Revoltech Date Masamune Review.

Posted by TwilightReap on September 17, 2010

ARE YOU READY GUYS?! PUT YOUR GUNS ON!

AS you can see, I got the limited white version. In my opinion the white version looks nicer. Also instead on designing a new box bandai Yamaguchi just wrapped it with banner(?) stating its the white version instead on the normal blue

Look around the box showing some very cool action poses and the weapons coming with it.

Yamaguchi: Increase playability value by purchasing Revoltech Sanada Yukimura!

After opening the box this is what you get inside.

The package is in those sort of vacuum package where there is a top and bottom layer. Also Revoltech coins. Do I really need it?? ._.

This is disturbing. Very disturbing

Instead of the blue effect part that come with the normal version, they changed the colour of the effect part to white! Thumbs up to Yamaguchi for this! Also revoltech coin box in every revoltech release~And also and also the clear display stand( black in the normal version) has two revoltech joint which gives it a whole lot of potability options! Also the display stand fits on a 1/144 scale gundam!

In the Sengoku era~ Warriors like Date Masamune relies on cool Armour that don’t even cover his chest to guard against bows, gunshots, swords. Now thats hardcore.

Date Masamune trademark golden crescent helmet! The crescent has a very nice golden metallic finish. The initial batch of the normal version came with a nice golden chrome for the the crescent, however i find it to be a little too shiny for my taste. The head is very awesome! The hair itself is very detailed. However, the face could be more expressive.

This is very cool~ The flap at the back of the helmet can swivel up and down. For what reason, I don not know. But its nice that they are so meticulous about the details!

The incredible details continues in the arm. Look at the bronze-ish copper-ish studs on the shoulder guard. Now thats attention to details! I wouldn’t mine if the were plain black with just some lines, but obviously Yamaguchi went an extra mile to be anime/game accurate.  There are even chain-mails around his biceps! Also the golden lining on the arm guard and hands is extremely nice~ No blemishes or anything!

One of the main reasons I bought this kit figure is because I preferred the gold trimmings rather then the white trimming on the normal version. Just look at that! No blemishes of any sort!

Also The shirt is made out of a soft vinyl material which makes it quite flexible. Also since its vinyl the folds around the shirt is very obvious and also adds a lot to the appearance of the figure! The hole at the back to the ‘back skirt’ is used for attaching the display stand!

Do I really have to talk about how great the details are at the legs too?

Now to look at the weapon & accessories that come with the figure.

How awesome is this sheath?! The six claws of Date Masamune! Nicely detail too! Look at the handle, can you see the extremely fine lines?!

Even the sheath haz Nice gold trimmings! Also the blade handles can pop out for more realism!

The sheath connects to the side via a double revoltech joint! This comes in handy a lot when posing the figure!

These are the blade that can combine to form something like a nagita~ Very awesome. Love the white lines on the bottom of the blade.

This is just a single blade which is much larger in size compared to the others. This one I had some problems with. When I was pushing the blade into the hand, the handle snap from the blade itself. Not something a little super glue can’t help, but just be careful of it.

This. This is why you want Date Masamune. The six claws all drawn out. already attached to the hand~ Very nice. The hand has a joint at the palm like newer master grades that allows it to go up & down.

A picture speaks a thousand words.

The extra face and manipulators used to hold the other swords.

Enough talk~ Time for actions.

This is where the revoltech joints in the sheath comes in handy.

MUGEN!

Enough playing around. Lets get the big boys out.

I love macro.

Sexy just got a new name.

Pros:

-Great articulation

-great details

-lotsa weapons

-Great playability value

Cons:

-slouchy neck

-loose knee joint

-too little face expression

Hope you Guys enjoy this review! Feedback about the review and my photography is greatly appreciated! Thanks

    He is awesome. =D

Oh, the articulated part for the helmet is for tilting the head more higher, as in doing a bowed down charging position.

    Date: Are you ready guys?
    Guys: YEEEEEAH~!
    Date: PUT YA GUNS ON~!
